NEET UG 2023: There is positive news for those preparing for the NEET medical entrance exam. It has been announced that six new medical colleges will be established in the nation. Students will be admitted on 600 places in these. The National Medical Commission, the country’s medical regulatory authority, has granted permission to six new medical colleges. Following this, the number of MBBS seats in the nation surpassed one lakh. Two of the six recently established government medical colleges are from Assam, and four are from Andhra Pradesh. In addition, approval has been granted to the Kokrajhar and Naugawan Medical Colleges in Assam. Both have 100-100 chairs.
Letters of permission have also been given to Vizianagaram, Nandyal, Rajamahendravaram and Machilipatnam in Andhra Pradesh. However, the NMC website still lists 654 medical schools with 99763 MBBS seats.
According to the Times Now website, Allen Coaching Counseling Expert Parijat Mishra stated that Satna Medical College in Madhya Pradesh and Nalbari Medical College in Assam can begin at any moment. Satna Medical College has 150 MBBS spots available. The permission letter is anticipated to be issued before the NEET UG 2023 exam.

Preparing for significant changes in the NEET test
The NEET UG exam may undergo significant adjustments. The National Medical Commission has produced a draught and is seeking feedback. NMC has suggested that NEET be conducted by itself or through another organisation. NEET is now administered by the NTA. If NMC’s proposal is implemented, the MBBS course will have to be finished in 9 years. Students will be allowed a total of four attempts to complete the first year.
