Indian Army Day 2023 Wishes: Messages, and Quotes for Indian Army Day 2023: Every year on January 15, India commemorates Army Day. On this day in 1949, KM Cariappa became the Indian Army’s first Commander-in-Chief. Since then, the 15th of January has been designated as Army Day.

General Francis Butcher relinquished command of the Indian Army to Field Marshal KM Cariappa. The army’s first two commanders after independence were British. Cariappa was promoted to Field Marshal in 1986 for his distinguished military service. On Army Day, January 15, a grand Army Day Parade is organised. Among all Army Day programmes, this is the most important. The Army Chief inspects the parade while saluting.

The main event of Indian Army Day, the Grand Army Day Parade, is being held in Bengaluru this year. Army Day celebrations will be held in various field commands across the country this year, rather than in the national capital of Delhi. Its goal is to increase engagement with civil society. On this day, a salute is also paid to all the valiant fighters who gave their all for the safety of their country and people.
