NEET or National Eligibility cum Entrance Test is held for admission to undergraduate medical and other allied courses. NEET UG 2022 was held on July 17 for around 18 lakh students. Next, National Testing Agency (NTA) will release the provisional answer key on neet.nta.nic.in.
From answer key, result to counselling, here are all the major events medical aspirants should know about the NEET exam:
A. Provisional answer key, question paper and OMR sheets: After NEET exam is over, NTA uploads provisional answer key along with candidates’ response sheets and the question paper of the exam on neet.nta.nic.in.
B. Window to raise objections: During this window, those who have complaints regarding the provisional answer key can raise objections online, by paying a fee.
C. Review of objections and final answer key: Next, NTA will review objections raised by aspirants and after that, publish the final answer key on the exam website.
D. NEET result, cut-off and rank list: At the end, NTA will announce NEET result and cut-off marks for medical admissions. The agency will also send the all India rank list to counselling authorities. NTA’s responsibility in NEET ends here.
E. AIQ, State quota counselling registration: Next, counselling authorities begin their work. Based on the rank list sent by NTA, state and central counselling bodies prepare rank lists for 85% state quota and 15% all India quota (AIQ) seats. Meanwhile, students register for counselling and exercise choices of their preferred medical colleges.
F. Provisional allotment result: Counselling agencies, based on students’ ranks and choices, publish provisional allotment lists and selected candidates can apply for admission. The counselling process continues to several rounds.
G. Reporting at allotted institution for admission: Candidates, at the end, visit allotted medical colleges to take admission.
