Gorakhpur has the largest number of designated schools (483), followed by Gonda and Sultanpur with 468 and 467 schools, respectively. An official stated that the selection of institutions is based on enrollment and year of establishment.
Infrastructural gaps will be addressed via Samagra Shiksha and convergence with relevant ministries and departments, he added.
Officials claim that fundamental facilities will assist schools in regaining dropouts, increasing student attendance, ensuring retention, and reducing the dropout rate among disadvantaged groups.
The selection of schools is founded on information provided by the federal government online. The cost of infrastructure interventions will be split 60:40 between the federal government and the states.
Vijay Kiran Anand, director general of secondary education, has instructed district basic shiksha adhikaris to develop an action plan to initiate the project.
Anand has also requested that the principals of these schools upload three geotagged photographs: the first prior to the commencement of the work, the second during the course of the work, and the third following its conclusion.
Anand stated, “Any laxity or poor quality of work will result in stern action against the school administration.”
