Ramgarh, July 20: More than 500 NCC girls cadets participated in Thal Sainik training at Punjab regimental centre (PRC) Ramgarh cantt. The training was given in Drill, Map Reading, Military Subjects, First Aid, Field Craft, War Craft and Firing.
The main emphasis of this training was to develop the qualities of character, discipline, spirit of courage, sportsmanship, ideals, besides social awareness and leadership ability.
It was a thrilling experience for NCC cadets to undergo military training in an army environment. Apart from training, other competitions were also conducted in the camp. Major General M Indrabalan, Brigadier AK Singh, Colonel Onkar Singh, Colonel Randhir Singh were present on the occasion.
A cultural program was organised at PRC Mahendra auditorium at the conclusion of the Army Camp.
The cadets received various types of training and participated enthusiastically in competitions. The cadets who performed well in the camp were also felicitated.
Program Chief Guest was Major General Indra Balan. He praised the contribution of the girls. He praised Hazaribagh Group for its performance. He said, “500 girls cadets participated in the Inter Group Army Camp. After the selection, 17 directors of DGMCC at the national level and cadets from all the states of India come there and participate. Different competitions were conducted during the camp. The cadets were taught to the subjects of national integration and nation building apart from the use of arms.”
