State Bank Group’s CSR arm, SBI Foundation, is now accepting applications for the eleventh iteration of the Youth for India Fellowship programme. The Fellowship provides a structure for college-educated urban students, recent graduates, and young professionals to collaborate with rural communities and grassroots NGOs in 17 Indian states.
The applicants for this 13-month Youth for India Fellowship must be Indian citizens, Overseas Citizens of India, or citizens of Bhutan and Nepal who are willing to adjust and acclimatise to rural life and work towards sustainable rural development objectives. The application deadline for the fellowship is 31 May 2023. Programme specifications are as under:
Bachelor’s degree must be completed by 1 October 2023 to be eligible.
Age requirements: 21 to 32 years
An Indian citizen, a citizen of Nepal or Bhutan, or an Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) may register.
The application procedure consists of Stage 1 (Registration and Online Assessment) and Stage 2 (Personal Interview).

During the past decade, hundreds of Indian youth have actively participated in Youth for India. This also included Overseas Citizens of India (OCIs) and registrants from India’s metropolitan areas. In terms of capacity development, the Programme has had an impact on over one million beneficiaries through the interventions of Fellows in twelve distinct thematic areas. These interventions were implemented in over 200 villages across 20 Indian states.
