Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) students are opposing the institute’s move to require fee payment upon registration. In a notice, the institute also stated that students should clear all previous dues before registering for the semester.
Registration will only be available after payment of fees or dues, and students who fail to register will not be permitted to attend classes.
However, the institute administration claimed that many students graduated without paying the fees, which led to the institute revising its requirements.
All students joining the upcoming semester are required to pay fees and register for the upcoming semester, as stated in a notice sent to the students. Students cannot continue on the roll of the program without completing semester registration. Government scholarships do not apply to students from SC/ST.
