University of West Florida Enrolls: The University of West Florida, according to President Martha D. Saunders, has many reasons to celebrate.
During Thursday’s 2023 State of the University address, Saunders highlighted the university’s historic enrollment record.
University of West Florida Enrolls 14,000 Students
More than 14,000 students joined UWF this autumn, marking the institution’s highest enrollment in 56 years, according to a university news release.
Saunders stated, “The good ship Argo is sailing at full speed, and we have much to show for our efforts, including national recognition, student accomplishments, and increased support.” We achieved success because we never lost sight of our mission.
Saunders concluded her speech by discussing upcoming or ongoing university projects, such as the Sandy Sansing Sports Medicine Center, an on-campus athletic stadium, Building 4 Annex, and a new residence hall to accommodate UWF’s expanding Living Learning Communities.
Saunders stated that for the past few years, UWF has focused on access, excellence in programs, and workforce development. We will continue along this course.
Saunders noted that for the second consecutive year, U.S. News & World Report ranked UWF among the region’s top 10 public institutions.
