Lupin Season 3 Release date: Not much time left before we can eventually see France’s famous thief back on our screens with his virtuoso-like personality that is successful in deceiving everyone. Lupin, directed by Louis Leterrier, Marcela Said, Ludovic Bernard, and Hugo Gelin, is based on the fictitious gentleman, Arsène Lupin, who was created by Maurice Leblanc in the early 1990s and is a master of theft and disguise. Lupin, which was created by George Kay and Francois Uzan, follows the exploits of a professional thief named Assane Diop, whose father was falsely accused of stealing an expensive diamond necklace by his authoritative employer Hubert Pellegrini.
Unable to extricate himself from a situation he did not create, he committed suicide in prison, leaving Assane an orphan. As time passes, Assane reads more of Leblanc’s Arsène Lupin and attains expertise in larceny. His journey, however, does not terminate there. He wishes to exact revenge on the Pellegrin family for the murder of his father.
On January 8, 2021, the first season of Lupin premiered on Netflix, featuring primary filming locations in Paris such as La Naumachie pond in Parc Monceau and Musée Nissim de Camondo on rue de Monceau. The second season premiered on June 11, just a few months later. Part 3 of Lupin: Release date, plot, cast, episodes, and other information
Before Netflix verified the renewal of this French thriller drama for a third season, the show’s lead, Omar Sy, confirmed it in a May 2021 tweet.
Sy told Deadline shortly before the season was renewed, “The first wager we won was bringing this character to life and creating a franchise. The franchise exists, and it is now Netflix’s decision what to do with it. We’ll see what they propose, but this character is incredibly entertaining and I would love to see him again tomorrow if I could.”
Date of Season Three’s Release
Netflix confirmed in May 2023 that the third season of Lupin will be available for streaming on October 5, 2023.
Has Netflix published the Season 3 trailer for Lupin?
Netflix released the official teaser for Lupin Part 3 on September 24, 2022, during its official TUDUM event. Assane describes how he avenged his father and how he had to come to light in the teaser. He then mentions that it is time to return to the shadows and vanish. Will he be able to vanish when his visage is plastered on the walls of the entire town and everyone is searching for him?
In addition, on June 18, 2023, a new clip of Lupin Part 3 featuring the infamous thief engaged in a rooftop pursuit was released.
The official trailer for Lupin season three was published on September 6, 2023. It provided a satisfying glimpse into the third season and ratcheted up the anticipation of the audience. Assane is depicted in the trailer employing his signature Don Juan-like demeanor and penchant for disguising himself. However, someone lurks in the shadows; perhaps a new adversary who poses a threat to Assane’s family. Who might it be? Take a peek at the following trailer:
What can we anticipate from Season 3 of Lupin?
Towards the conclusion of the second season of Lupin, the audience sees investigators arrest Pellegrini and Dumont for their culpable crimes, such as manipulating Babakar Diop into stealing a necklace, using copious evidence from Assane. As a result, Assane has successfully cleared his father’s name, but he now finds himself in an even more precarious position. In the meantime, a manhunt is organized in France for him, as he is still sought for his crimes. In addition, he has been notably absent from Raoul’s existence.
Here is the official plot summary for Season 3 of Lupin, courtesy of Collider:
“Now that Assane is in hiding, he must learn to exist apart from his wife and child. As a result of the suffering they endure because of him, Assane can no longer withstand it and returns to Paris with an insane proposition: leave France and begin a new life elsewhere. However, the spirits of the past are never far away, and an unexpected return will throw his plans for a loop.”
In addition, while speaking with Metro, creator Kay discussed the new direction the third season’s narrative will take in relation to its predecessors. A new narrative will emerge, introducing a new cast of characters and a new mission for Assane. He stated, “It won’t be so focused on Babaker [Assane’s deceased father], although he will remain a crucial emotional support for Assane in his memory. It will be different material and less concentrated on Pellegrini.’
In addition, the upcoming installment will be inspired by Maurice Leblanc’s book series and all of Arsene Lupin’s exciting conversations. As usual, Assane would use tactics from Lupin’s stories to free himself from the tangle.
Although Assane exacted his vengeance in season 2, Pellegrini remained unsatisfied. In a conversation with EW, Sy stated, “It depends on what happens next for Pellegrini and everyone else, including himself. Because it is not fully complete. He has completed the majority of the task, but it is not entirely done. The conclusion of episode 10 left us with unanswered concerns.
Interestingly, Kay hinted at the prospect of a Sherlock Holmes and Lupin crossover, which actually happened in the source material. During an interview with Radio Times, he stated, “There have been discussions.” I’m very interested in exploring some of my concepts surrounding this topic.
He added, “The Arsène Lupin fanbase, which is evident in the program, would have to lock antlers with the Sherlock Holmes fanbase, if you want to get meta. This level of enjoyment would be awesome, and it’s not something we haven’t discussed.
With the progression of the narrative, many television programs have become darker and more violent. This will not be the situation with Lupin, Sy assured the show’s audience. He stated, “Throughout the entire program, we were extremely cautious not to have our protagonist be violent. Therefore, Assane is not violent; he does what he does, but without violence.
“One of Lupin’s rules is that he is never violent and has never murdered anyone. And we wanted you to think in that instant, ‘Maybe he’ll do it’ Because it is substantial. It’s about his dad, and all these years waiting and having that moment with all this fury, maybe something’s gonna happen.”
He added, “And perhaps he will convert to the other side. Then why not? That was indeed plausible. But then having him come back to himself, being smarter than that, and able to control his fury — we wanted that moment to make the audience believe he might actually do it. through Digital Spy.

In a conversation with Metro, creator George Kay revealed that the upcoming season will also feature new characters. He stated, “Part 3 will be a new beginning with new characters, while maintaining a large portion of the regular cast.”
“There won’t be as much emphasis on Babaker [Assane’s late father], although he will remain an essential emotional support for Assane in his memory. It’ll be different things, and it won’t be so focused on Pellegrini.”
Sy told The Hollywood Reporter about his mysterious character and how he landed it: “We were discussing making a show with the show’s producer, Gaumont, and they asked me, ‘What would be your dream role?’ And it didn’t take me long to reply, “Lupin.”
He continued, “It’s a classic for us, he’s the man, you know? And for an actor, he is comparable to the most desirable object. Because he can be used for anything… It enabled me to accomplish everything. I can be humorous. There is tension. There is activity. All with the same personality.”
