Summary of Not Dead Yet Season 1
Nell, Sam, and Edward park in front of the patisserie of Philip. Nell appears melancholy and is observing Philip through binoculars. She recalls abandoning her life and moving abroad to spend five years with him, discovering what made him joyful. However, she is uncertain about her sentiments towards him.
Sam informs Nell that she is aware of her feelings toward Philip, even if they are wrath and hatred. Edward questions why he is there, but Sam assures him that he is there to assist Ne steady. Edward finds it odd to visit the establishment and inquire about Philip’s new life in Pasadena, but Nell urges him to do so. Edward combats with deception and spying.
Sam becomes curious about Philip’s life in Pasadena, and Nell tells him that he is adventurous and unpredictable, but he was not there for her after the miscarriage. Nell and Sam observe from a distance that Edward is uneasy around Philip.
They quickly discovered that he was not the ideal candidate for their joint adversary reconnaissance mission. Philip is aware that a group is observing him outside of the patisserie. Nell orders Sam to accelerate and depart in a state of despair.
When Nell is researching a 43-year-old employee who never took a day off, Philip sends her a text message. She presents it immediately to her closest friend Sam, who is furious despite her composure.
Denis is perplexed until Nell explains that the message is from Philip. The ghost of the elderly woman Nell is investigating advises her to meet with Philip, who may have vital information. Nell takes the ghost’s advice in the hopes of achieving closure. Sam offers to assist her while staring at him from the vehicle.
Lexi enters the meeting room and suggests that Sam and Denis discuss her daughter Kendell’s birthday instead of business. Lexi is thrilled to collaborate with her peers on a work-themed party that Kendell desires.
Even though Tilly desires a princess-themed birthday party, Lexi suggests dividing the newsroom so that they can have both a princess-themed party and a work-themed party. Sam dislikes the concept, but Lexi allows her to figure it out on her own.
Sam should consider how she can assist with party themes and accompany Nell to Philip’s meetings, as Denis does. Sam is burdened by her responsibilities and her difficult circumstance.
Sam invites Edward to attend the Philip meeting with Nell. Edward visits the patisserie with Nell. Edward observes the conversation from the car and informs Sam. Edward has difficulty understanding Nell’s emotions, leaving Sam dissatisfied with his incapacity to convey what is occurring.
Nell inquires of Philip in the patisserie about his trip to Pasadena. Philip apologizes immediately and explains that he emotionally shut down during their challenging moments because he was fearful and lacked emotional control. Nell was unhappy because of his stillness.
After apologizing, Philip offers Nell a freshly baked bambolone. She agrees. Edward describes the incident to Sam over the phone. In addition, Philip reminds Nell that she owes him an apology for her abrupt and unexplained departure.
Nell becomes distraught after consuming the bambolone and realizes that Philip traveled to Pasadena for this purpose. She feels foolish for not having noticed it sooner. Indignant, she escapes the patisserie. Nell responds, “Exactly as I anticipated,” when Edward queries how the meeting went.

In the first season, notable ghostly guest actors such as Martin Mull as Monty, Brittany Snow, Ed Begley Jr., and Rhea Perlman appeared. I’m intrigued as to which additional well-known actors will portray the spirits Nell sees in the upcoming season.
