CUET 2022: Troubled by the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) being held for the first time, Class 12 student Sanat Tuli’s troubles escalated when he got an email a day earlier to change his exam center. Change of exam center 24 hours before CUET exam… Tuli and her family couldn’t believe it.
Tuli said, ‘I don’t even know how to react to the last minute change of exam center. I was busy with revision and around 4 pm I came to know that my exam center has been changed due to technical glitch. I am now thinking that whatever can happen, have to be ready for it, because now there will be no use in panic.”
Sanat’s mother Sheena Tuli said that this exam is stressing the children with every new update. Exam is on 15th and we got admit card on 11th only. Now a day before the exam they have changed the center.
CUET 2022: UGC chairman said, NTA is considering requests to change exam centers
Sheena said, ‘My son has a calm nature. But this is the first time I am seeing her under extreme stress. This exam is giving more stress and anxiety to the children. My son has applied in PWD (Divyang) category. He will have all five papers in a day. I don’t know how we will manage back-to-back papers. We have no choice but this is not the right way to conduct such an important exam. This will decide the fate of all the students.”
Sudha Acharya, chairperson of the National Progressive Schools Conference (NPSC), which covers more than 120 schools in Delhi, also confirmed that the exam center of many students has been changed a day ago. It is difficult to change the examination center at the last minute, the teachers are in touch with the children.
Acharya, principal of ITL Public School, Dwarka, said that the examination center of many students was our school, but it has now been changed. The NTA informed him by phone and email.
Another student Anisha Srivastava’s examination center has also changed. Anisha will appear for the CUET exam on Friday and July 19. No change has been made in his examination center on Friday.
Anisha said, ‘My center has been shifted from Delhi to Noida for the exam to be held next week. I was told there was some technical glitch. I was happy with the earlier center as it was closer to my home. The new center in Noida is far away from my home.
A senior NTA official said that some changes were made in the allotted exam center at the last minute due to technical snag at some centres. “In order to ensure smooth conduct of examinations, some centers were changed for technical reasons,” the official said, requesting anonymity.
