This creates a more creative and personalized method of greeting someone before they answer the phone. Additionally, the ability to choose a photo, color, font, memoji, and more ensures that you can create a unique contact poster that helps match your aesthetic preferences and reflects your style.

How to Create Contact Images and Posters on an iPhone

You must first create a personal contact or “My card” on your iPhone, which can then be personalized with your Contact Photo and Poster. Follow the instructions below to configure and use the same on your iPhone. If you have already created a personal My card, you can skip the first step and go directly to Step 2 to select your Contact Photo and Poster. Let’s get going.

 

Create a personal contact (My card) as the  step 1.

Here is how to create your iPhone My card. The procedures listed below will assist you with the process.

Launch the Contacts application on your iPhone and select the plus sign in the upper-right corner.

Enter a preferred name and any additional information you wish to set for your My Card.

 

When complete, select + add phone.

Now enter your phone number and your area code, if necessary..

On your iPhone, you can create and configure your Contact Photo and Poster for your My card. If you haven’t already created a My card, you can use the preceding step to do so before creating your Contact Photo and Poster. Let’s get going.

Launch the Contacts app on your iPhone and select the My Card tab.

Select Contact Photo & Poster from the menu.

Initially, guarantee that the switch for Name & Photo Sharing is activated.

Now let’s set your name. Tap Name.

Continue with the instructions below to create your own personalized contact poster. However, if you do not wish to do so at this time. You have gone above and beyond. Tap the back icon in the upper-left corner to finish.

Create your own Contact Poster in Step 3

Follow one of the sections below to create your Contact Poster, depending on the option you selected.

3.1 – Generate a Contact Poster with a Camera

Tap Camera at the bottom to instantly generate your Contact Poster.

Frame your photo as necessary, modify your lens options, and then tap the shutter button when you’re ready.

Tap Use Photo if satisfied with the capture.

Tap Retake to take another photo.

Now, the Image will be attached to your Contact Poster. Tap your name in the header to personalize it..

Tap and select a preferred font from the options at the top of the screen.

Now you can adjust the font weight for your name using the slider.

Next, swipe the options at the bottom and tap your preferred name color to select it.

The Color wheel can be tapped to select a custom color.

Upon selecting a color, use the bottom slider to modify its vibrancy, if available.

Tap the X icon when you are finished.

Utilize the pinch gesture to zoom in or out of an image.

Once you’re finished customizing your Contact Poster, tap Done.

And this is how you can use the camera to take a real-time photo and use it as your Contact Poster.

3.2 – Generate a Contact Poster with Images

Using one of your existing Photos, you can create a Contact Poster using the methods below. The procedures listed below will assist you with the process.

To use one of the existing images with your Contact Poster, tap images at the bottom.

Scroll through your photos, then tap and select your preferred image.

Utilize the pinch gesture to zoom in or out of an image.

   Note: Depending on the photo you select, the depth effect will also be available when generating your contact card.

Swipe to the left on the Contact Poster to observe the available effects for your poster. You should have the following options available to you.

  • Natural: This will preserve the natural appearance of your photo while applying a minor blur effect to the area where your name will appear.
  • Gradient Backdrop: This will preserve the natural appearance of your photo while applying a minor blur effect to the area where your name will appear.
  • Seamless Background: this option will apply a colored background to your image’s background. You can tap the color icon to select one of the preset colors or designate a custom hue, based on your preferences.
  • Seamless Background Mono: This will apply a monochromatic filter to your image while allowing you to set a colored background as in the option above. You can choose a custom background color or one of the presets while using the slider to control the color’s vibrancy.
  • Overprint: This filter will give the overall image a posterized appearance. As with the preceding options, you can select a preset or custom color for this filter..
  • Studio: This option applies the Studio Portrait Lighting effect, which is also available in the Camera application. Depending on your inclinations, you can tap the lighting icon to toggle between high-key and low-key lighting..
  • Black & White: As its name implies, this option applies a Black & White filter to the image, allowing you to choose between a dark or pale background.
  • Color Backdrop: This option applies a colored backdrop to the image and brings the subject to the foreground. Then, you can tap the color icon and select a background preset while adjusting its vibrancy using the slider.
  • Duotone: This is the ubiquitous Duotone filter, which has been accessible for lock screen backgrounds on iOS 16 and later. It applies a two-color filter with a gradual transition between the two colors to the entire image. You can tap the color icon to select the duotone filter you prefer
  • Color Wash: This is the final filter that applies a color tint to the entire image, similar to the one available since iOS 16 for lock screen backgrounds. As before, you can tap the color icon to select your preferred color for the filter.

Note: Some of the options mentioned above are exclusive to Portrait mode images captured with the iPhone’s camera app.

Tap your name at the top to customize its font and weight.

Swipe through the options at the top and select your preferred font.

Adjust the font weight according to your preferences using the slider.

Once you’re satisfied with the result, tap the X icon.

Tap the three-dot icon to disable the Depth Effect.

Here’s how to create and utilize an iPhone Memoji Contact Poster. The procedures listed below will assist you with the process.

Tap Memoji at the bottom of the screen.

Make sure your face is recognized by holding the phone in front of your face and ensuring that your visage is recognized. Create your desired expression, then select the Shutter icon to take a picture.

Additionally, you can tap and select a preferable expression from the options at the bottom of the screen.

Once you’re finished, tap the Next button.

Tap the color icon in the lower-left corner to select your preferred background color..

Use the bottom slider to modify the vibrancy of the selected color.

Tap your Name in the header..

Swipe and select your preferable font for your name from the options at the top of the screen.

Now adjust the weight of the font using the slider.

Tap X when you are finished.

In addition, you can toggle the Depth Effect when creating a Memoji Contact Poster. Tap the Depth Effect icon in the lower-right corner of the screen.

Select Now Depth Effect On or Depth Effect Off, based on your preference.

Once you’re finished creating your Memoji Contact Poster, select Done.

You have now produced a Memoji Contact Poster.

3.4 – Create a Contact Poster with a Monogram

Here is how to create an iPhone Monogram Contact Poster.

Tap Monogram at the bottom of the display.

Tap the color icon and select the desired background hue.

Tap your Name in the header.

Swipe through the options at the top and select your preferred font.

Use the slider to select the desired font weight. This will also impact the font weight of your monogram initials.

Swipe and select your preferable font color from the options at the bottom of the screen.

Use the slider to modify the intensity of the color.

Tap X when you are finished.

To customize your initials, tap the button in the bottom right quadrant.

Change your initials as necessary.

Tap Done when you are finished editing.

Once you are satisfied with your Monogram Contact Poster, select Done in the upper right.

Step 3: Continue developing your Contact Poster

Once you have created your desired Contact Poster, a preview of it will be displayed. If the preview is satisfactory, select Continue at the bottom.

After tapping Continue, you’ll be prompted to edit your contact photo. To edit and reposition the image, tap Crop.

Now, modify and reposition the image using the pinch gesture.

Once you’re satisfied with the outcome, tap Choose.

Various filter options are now available at the bottom of the screen. Tap and select a desired filter to activate it.

Once you are satisfied with the result, tap Done in the upper-right corner.

Select Continue.

If this is your first time customizing your My Card, you will now be asked if you want to use this contact photo everywhere. Select Use or Not Now, based on your preferences.

Tap Back in the upper-left quadrant of the screen when you are finished.
