The background of Bring Your Bible To School Day

Christian faith has existed for centuries, and in the United States, freedom of speech to express one’s religion has been one of the most essential ideologies that have made America so diverse and prosperous. Bring Your Bible to School Day, which encourages students to demonstrate and support their faith by bringing their bibles to school, is a holiday that correlates with this philosophy.

In 1962 and 1963, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that Bible readings in public schools were unconstitutional and, as a result, removed Bibles from schools. However, in 2014, Focus on the Family, an American Christian organization that aids consult families and provides resources for Christians, founded this day to encourage students to bring their bibles to school as an expression of their freedom of speech and religion.
Since its inception in 2014, when 8,000 students participated, participation has increased to over 40,000 in recent years, with students from every state.

Under the First Amendment, students may bring a Bible to school and read it during their leisure time, such as during lunch, but not during class or official school activities. For the day, you can organize local participation using posters, T-shirts, and other promotional materials to raise awareness and invite peers.
