The current I.C.D.O constitution was approved by the organization’s member states in 1972, and it went into effect on March 1 of the same year.
Each year, the I.C.D.O. selects a theme to guide World Civil Defense Day activities. In 2019, the slogan was “Children’s safety, our duty.” The theme for 2022 is “Unifying the world’s foremost industry experts for the safety and security of future generations.”
