Rozgar Mela Appointment Letters: Today, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi distributed over 51,000 appointment letters via video conferencing to newly enlisted personnel. The Rozgar Mela was conducted in 45 locations throughout the nation. Through this Rozgar Mela, the Ministry of Home Affairs is recruiting personnel for several central armed police forces (CAPFs), including the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Border Security Force (BSF), Shashtra Seema Bal (SSB), Assam Rifles, Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), and Narcotics control Bureau (NCB), in addition to the Delhi Police. Selected from across the nation, the new recruits will fill positions such as Constable (General Duty), Sub-Inspector (General Duty), and Non-General Duty Cadre Posts in various organisations under the Ministry of Home Affairs.

In his remarks, the Prime Minister congratulated the newly appointed ‘Amrit Rakshak’ on their selection during the Amrit Kaal. He gave them the name ‘Amrit Rakshak’ because the new appointees will not only service the country but also defend it and its citizens. The Prime Minister stated, “You are ‘Amrit Rakshak’ of this ‘Amrit Kaal’.”

The Prime Minister emphasised the responsibility associated with selection into the Defence, security, and police forces and stated that the government has taken the requirements of the forces extremely seriously. He spoke of significant shifts in the recruitment of paramilitary forces. From application to final selection, the recruitment process has been accelerated, and examinations are now administered in 13 local languages instead of English or Hindi. He mentioned the enlistment of hundreds of tribal youth in Chhattisgarh’s Naxal-affected regions by relaxing recruitment standards. He also discussed the special quota for youth from border regions and regions afflicted by extremism.

The Prime Minister highlighted the responsibilities of the new recruits in assuring the nation’s development by stating that a secure environment based on the rule of law accelerates the rate of development. The Prime Minister cited Uttar Pradesh as an example of a state that once lagged behind in terms of development and was also a leader in terms of criminality. With the establishment of the rule of law in Uttar Pradesh, he continued, the state is now able to reach new heights of development, and a society devoid of fear is being established. “This arrangement of law and order reinforces faith in the people,” he continued. In states with a high crime rate, investments are extremely low and employment opportunities are nonexistent, he noted.

Noting that India has the world’s fastest-growing economy, Prime Minister Modi reaffirmed that India will be among the top three economies by the end of this decade. The Prime Minister stated, “Modi provides such assurances with the utmost accountability.” Continuing his discussion of the effects of a growing economy on the average citizen, the Prime Minister stated that it is crucial for every sector to expand in order to assure the economic expansion. He discussed the function of the pharmaceutical industry during the pandemic. It is estimated that by 2030, India’s pharmaceutical industry will be worth approximately 10 lakh crore rupees, compared to its current value of approximately 4 lakh crore rupees. This expansion, according to the Prime Minister, will necessitate the employment of more young people in the pharmaceutical industry in the future years, thereby increasing employment opportunities.

Fastest-Growing Economy

The Prime Minister disclosed that the automotive and auto components industries are worth more than 12 lakh crores and will continue to expand in the coming years. He emphasised that in order to maintain this growth rate, the automobile industry will require a large number of additional young people, thereby generating employment opportunities for the nation. In addition, he discussed the food processing industry, which was valued at approximately 26 lakh crores last year, and predicted that it will reach 35 lakh crores within the next three and a half years. He added, “with expansion comes increased employment opportunities.”

Referring to infrastructure development, the Prime Minister stated that the central government has spent more than 30 lakh crore on infrastructure over the past nine years. This is stimulating connectivity as well as tourism and hospitality, thereby generating new employment opportunities.

According to the Prime Minister, the tourism industry will contribute more than 20 lakh crore to the economy by 2030, creating an estimated 13 to 14 crore employment. These are not merely numbers, he explained; these developments will have an effect on the lives of ordinary citizens by generating jobs, improving the quality of life, and boosting income.

The efforts of the government over the past nine years have ushered in a new era of transformation, the prime minister remarked. He stated that India’s record exports from the previous year are indicative of the increased demand for Indian-made products on the global market. As a consequence, according to Shri Modi, production has increased, employment has increased, and family income has risen. He stated that India has become the second-largest mobile phone manufacturing nation in the globe, and that the demand for mobile phones in India has also increased significantly. The exponential increase in mobile manufacturing was attributed to the government’s efforts. Shri Modi stated that the nation is now also focusing on other electronic devices and expressed confidence that India will replicate the success of the mobile manufacturing sector in the IT and hardware manufacturing sectors.

The Prime Minister continued, “The day is not far off when laptops and personal computers made in India will make us proud.” Referring to the slogan ‘Vocal for Local,’ the Prime Minister stated that the government is prioritising the purchase of Indian-made laptops and computers, resulting in an increase in production and employment. He reaffirmed the responsibility placed on the shoulders of the new recruits to provide a secure environment for the nation’s economic development.

On this day, nine years ago, the Prime Minister recalled the commencement of the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana. The Prime Minister stated, “This scheme has played a significant role in the creation of employment and the economic empowerment of rural and impoverished communities.” More than 50 billion bank accounts have been opened under the initiative over the past nine years, he reported. This programme has facilitated the direct delivery of benefits to the impoverished and disadvantaged, as well as the employment and self-employment of tribal, female, Dalit, and other disadvantaged segments. Bank Mitras hired numerous youths as financial correspondents. PM Modi informed that more than 21 lakh youth are employed as Bank Mitras or Bank Sakhis. He stated that Jan Dhan Yojana strengthened Mudra Yojana. He reported that more than 24 trillion rupees in collateral-free loans have been disbursed so far under the Mudra Yojana.

Among the recipients are 8 billion first-time entrepreneurs. About 45 lakh street vendors were granted collateral-free loans for the first time under PM Svanidhi. Numerous women, dalits, backward, and tribal adolescents are among the beneficiaries of these programmes. The Prime Minister continued, Jan Dhan accounts have strengthened women’s Self-Help Groups in the villages. “The role that Jan Dhan Yojana has played in accelerating social and economic change in the nation is worthy of study,” he added.

He emphasised that as public servants, the new hires will be required to make long-term decisions that benefit the public. “The generation to which you belong is driven to accomplish something. As he emphasised the significance of fulfilling the people’s aspirations as public servants, the prime minister stated that this generation does not seek anyone’s favour; rather, it merely desires that no one stands in their way. He added that will receive significant assistance in maintaining law and order if they adhere to this understanding.

The Prime Minister concluded his address by emphasising the importance of maintaining a learning mindset among paramilitary forces and highlighting the more than 600 courses available on the IGOT Karmayogi portal. “Over 20 million government employees have registered on this website. The Prime Minister urged everyone to join this portal and take advantage of its benefits. In conclusion, the Prime Minister emphasised the importance of physical fitness and yoga as a daily practise for the new recruits.

Background

Strengthening the CAPFs and Delhi Police will enable these forces to perform their multidimensional roles more effectively, including assisting with internal security, counterterrorism, insurgency suppression, anti-leftist extremism, and border protection.

The Rozgar Mela is a step towards the fulfilment of the Prime Minister’s pledge to give the utmost priority to job creation. The Rozgar Mela is anticipated to serve as a catalyst for the creation of additional jobs and to provide meaningful opportunities for youth empowerment and participation in national development.

More than 673 e-learning courses have been made available for ‘anytime, anywhere, any device’ learning format on the iGOT Karmayogi portal’s Karmayogi Prarambh online training module.
