Solar Eclipse 2024: List of Total Solar Eclipse To Be Witnessed

The eclipse will be deep along the path of totality and mild near the outer circle. The sky will darken and the sun will appear eerie during a deep partial eclipse.

Solar Eclipse 2024: The total solar eclipse that will cover North America on April 8, 2024, will go through Mexico, the US, and Canada. Over the South Pacific Ocean will be where the total solar eclipse will start. The Pacific coast of Mexico will see totality first in continental North America, weather permitting, at about 11:07 a.m. PDT.

The eclipse’s course continues from Mexico, passing through Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine before entering the United States. Southern Ontario will be where the eclipse first reaches Canada; it will then travel through Quebec, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, and Cape Breton. At 5:16 p.m. NDT, the eclipse will leave North America’s continent on the Atlantic coast of Newfoundland, Canada.

List of Solar Eclipse 2024

Let’s start with the fact that 31 million Americans already reside inside the totality’s path. These maps weigh travel distance from across the country to summarise the prospective visits from nearby states.

Near Torreon, Mexico, there will be a 4 minute, 27 second duration record.

A total eclipse of the Sun occurs when the shadow completely surrounds the inner black circle, or umbra. The penumbra, or outside shadow circle, denotes the extent of the partial eclipse. The eclipse will be deep along the path of totality and mild near the outer circle. The sky will darken and the sun will appear eerie during a deep partial eclipse. Get inside the totality’s path if you can! 99% and 100% are not the same. Only when you are 100% eclipsed and within the path of totality will you be able to glimpse the corona.
