In 1971, the Bubolz Nature Preserve was established. The Natural Areas Preservation, as it was formerly known, was a nature reserve founded by a group of like-minded individuals who wished to preserve natural habitats by allocating green spaces that were inaccessible to development and pollution. Gordon Bubolz supervised the crew. To honor his contributions to the reserve’s development, the name was changed to Bubolz Nature Reserve.
