During the 2000s, he was a fixture of Over-the-Top wrestling and also competed for ICW in Scotland and WXW in Germany. Finn Balor, as Fergal Devitt from Bray, is a former WWE Grand Slam champion whom Fergal taught. He also appeared in Ireland alongside WWE superstar Becky Lynch, née Rebecca Quin.

In an emotive social media post, the Baldoyle wrestler paid tribute to Merton. She informed him that he was among the first to learn of her potential WWE contract. Becky Lynch acknowledged Merton on social media for his early support of her career.
Lynch continued by stating that Merton was always there for her and she would mourn their time spent together.

This past Saturday night at WWE Payback, Becky Lynch and Trish Stratus finally settled their dispute. Lynch defeated the WWE legend in the first Steel Cage match of the evening. After the match, Zoey Stark and Trish Stratus engaged in a passionate argument in the ring.

Before leaving her in the ring, Stark utilised the Z360 on her instructor. Stark debuted as Stratus’ disciple at the Night of Champions in May and assisted her in defeating Lynch. The Man used Instagram to send Stratus a straightforward message following her defeat at WWE Payback.
