Fatal Crash on DuSable Lake Shore Drive: Tuesday morning, a pedestrian was struck and tragically killed while walking on DuSable Lake Shore Drive in Streeterville, Chicago, according to the Chicago police.
A BMW X-3 collided with one of two individuals attempting to cross all lanes in the 800-block of southbound North Jean-Baptiste Pointe DuSable Lake Shore Drive at approximately 5:25 a.m., according to the Chicago Police Department (CPD).

Upon arriving at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, he passed away tragically. They have yet to determine who he is. The other pedestrian was not injured. According to the police, the 63-year-old driver involved in the collision also attempted to escape to Northwestern because he was experiencing extreme fear.

The Chicago police closed the southbound lanes at Chestnut Street at approximately 6:30 a.m., which caused traffic from Division Street to become extremely congested.
At approximately 9:15 a.m., the lanes reopened; however, the morning rush-hour congestion had extended well beyond DuSable Lake Shore Drive. Commuters were stranded or diverted to alternate routes for over three hours as the authorities investigated the collision.
