A few weeks after talking about marriage on his podcast, Smith was seen traveling with a woman. “Now don’t get the wrong idea; I’m 55 years old, have two kids, and I’ve never been married,” Smith said.
“I’m 55 years old, I’ve never been married and I’m happy about it,” Smith said. “Now one could easily surmise that a past rife with some promiscuity, dare I say contributed to my desire to be single. But that is not the reason.”

Then he talked about what he was thinking by saying, “I’m not upset about being single.” Jeezy, how he asked for a divorce from Jeannie Mai, his wife. After only two years of being married. People she used to be friends with say she wants his money.
He then called out ‘The Shade Room,’ saying, “I hope the Shade Room is watching. My nephew tipped me off to that site and I’ve seen some of the things y’all talk about. Oh, you’re welcome on the Stephen A. Smith show, please come.”
He concluded by giving one last example: “If Kevin Costner’s monthly child support enables the children to maintain the quality of life he once provided, why should he have to pay extra so the wife he’s no longer with gets to maintain her quality of life? Y’all ain’t together.”

Stephen A. Smith’s Career
Smith’s first jobs were as a reporter for the New York Daily News, the Greensboro News & Record, and the Winston-Salem Journal. Smith has been a reporter for The Philadelphia Inquirer since 1994.
He first wrote about the Philadelphia 76ers in the NBA, but then he switched to writing about sports in general. The Inquirer said on August 23, 2007, that Smith would be going back to her old job as a general assignment reporter and would no longer be writing articles.
In 2008, Smith and the Inquirer broke up. That same year, Smith started his own blog at stephena.com. Smith agreed to take down any political commentary from his website and from cable news shows after being given a second chance by an arbitrator. He then went back to work for The Philadelphia Inquirer in February 2010.
Smith was hired by ESPN again on February 1, 2011, as a columnist for ESPN.com and the host of weekday local radio shows on 710 ESPN Radio Los Angeles (KSPN-AM) from 6 to 8 p.m. PT and 1050 ESPN Radio New York (WEPN–AM) from 7 to 9 p.m. ET. The last show Smith did for LA 710 ESPN was on April 24, 2012.
