Jacob Rhoades Obituary: At the age of 21, Jacob Eaton Rhoades, who resided in Emlenton, unexpectedly passed away at Allegheny General Hospital on the afternoon of Saturday, August 5, 2023. On September 28, 2001, he was born in Brookville to parents Jeffrey David Rhoades and Wendy Switzer as well as Ginger Lou Morgan Covert and Mark Covert. Both sets of parents were his grandparents.
He received his high school education at A.C. Valley and also went to the Clarion County Career Centre. Jacob was an employee of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 66, as well as the owner and operator of Rhoades Excavating. He also worked for Palo Contracting. After passing Kip’s CDL Testing, he had obtained a Class A commercial driver’s licence and was now participating in the apprenticeship programme offered by the Operators Union.

Jacob was well-known for having a strong work ethic and always being prepared to lend a helping hand to those in need. He was a member of Salem Lutheran Church and enjoyed activities such as hunting with a bow and arrow, fishing, riding dirt motorcycles, and tinkering with his Dodge truck from the second generation.
Jacob delighted in quality time spent with his loved ones, particularly his grandparents and close friends. His sister, Gina Marie Rhoades, who still resides at home, as well as his stepbrother, Austin Switzer of Shippenville, and stepsister, Madelyn Switzer of Seneca, are among those who have survived. His parents, Jeffrey Rhoades and Wendy Switzer of Emlenton, and Ginger and Mark Covert of Butler, are also among those who have survived.
In addition, Jacob is survived by his maternal grandparents, Dennis and Lucinda “Cindy” Morgan of Mayport; paternal grandparents David and Becky Rhoades of Emlenton and Deborah Myers of Elk City; step-grandparents Jim and Joan Covert of Franklin; and a huge number of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
His great-grandparents, his step-grandfather Greg Myers, and his step-uncle Cody Myers all passed away before he was born. On Friday, August 11, 2023, from 2:00 to 4:00 and from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., the family and friends of the deceased will be received at the William N. Rupert Mortuary, Inc., located at 430 Mendenhall Avenue in Knox.
On Saturday, August 12, 2023, at 11 a.m., funeral services will be held at the Salem Lutheran congregation, which is located at 2057 Route 208 in Lamartine. The ceremonies will be led by Reverend Doug Dyson, who is the pastor of the congregation.
A funeral service will immediately follow, and it will take place in the Salem Lutheran Cemetery.Beginning at eleven in the morning on Saturday, the funeral services will be broadcast live on the Facebook page of the Rupert Funeral Home.
