Lance Reddick Sudden Death Leaves Keanu Reeves 'Heartbroken'

Lance Reddick, actor with a lengthy and successful career, unexpectedly passed away at the age of 60, and his co-stars have paid their respects. Reddick, who starred alongside Keanu Reeves in the John Wick film series, was found deceased in his Studio City, Los Angeles, home on Friday. (17 March).

The actor’s publicist stated that he perished of natural causes. Reddick’s portrayal of the merciless Baltimore police lieutenant Cederic Daniels in The Wire and Charon in the John Wick films propelled him to fame. In addition to his roles on Fringe, Bosch, and Oz, he has appeared in over a dozen video games.

Reeves and John Wick: Chapter Four director Chad Stahelski released a statement together.

“We are deeply saddened and heartbroken at the loss of our beloved friend and colleague Lance Reddick. He was the consummate professional and a joy to work with,” they said. We send our deepest condolences to his wife, Stephanie, and their children, as well as to the rest of his family and friends. In his honor, we present this film. He was a wonderful member of our team, and he will be sorely missed.

The Wire’s creator, David Simon, tweeted,  “Consummate professional, devoted collaborator, lovely and gentle man, loyal friend. Could go on, but no, I can’t go on. This is gutting. And way, way, way too soon.” Wendell Pierce, who portrayed “Bunk” Mooreland, and Isiah Whitlock Jr., who played Clay Davis, were just two of Reddick’s former Wire co-stars who paid respect to the late actor.

“A man of great strength and grace. As talented a musician as he was an actor,” Pierce tweeted. “The epitome of class. For our creative family, tragedy has struck suddenly and unexpectedly. A tragedy of unfathomable proportions for his loved ones. We wish you the best of luck, pal. You’ve left your imprint on this place.

In a blog entry, Whitlock expressed his shock and sorrow at the passing of Lance Reddick. This tale is lamentable. RIP Dear comrade. Your presence will be missed greatly. We wish you the greatest success.
