How Much Can Florida SNAP Recipients Receive?
The maximum SNAP amounts for Florida during September 2026 are based on the federal FY 2026 figures. These amounts apply from October 1, 2025, through September 30, 2026. Your actual payment can be lower because SNAP is based on household income, deductions and other eligibility rules.

- 4 people: Up to $994
- 5 people: Up to $1,183

- 7 people: Up to $1,571

SNAP doesn’t automatically give every household the maximum amount. The USDA explains that benefits are generally calculated using the maximum allotment for the household size and the household’s net income.
New Florida SNAP Food Rules in 2026
Florida has also made a change to the foods that can be bought with SNAP. Starting April 20, 2026, SNAP benefits in Florida can’t be used to buy soda, energy drinks, candy or ultra-processed shelf-stable prepared desserts.
Many normal grocery foods are still eligible. These include fruits and vegetables, meat, poultry, seafood, breads, pasta, cereals, coffee, tea and baking ingredients.
