The Arnold Strongman Classic’s History
Among the numerous activities that comprise the Arnold Sports Festival is the Arnold Strongman Classic. At first, the sports festival did not include the strongman. But the event was created at the suggestion of well-known American powerlifter Dr. Terry Todd.
In 2002, the Strongman Classic was introduced. WWE standout and well-known wrestler Mark Henry won the event’s inaugural tournament. The strongman has greatly expanded and gained worldwide popularity since that time.
Competitors from all over the world compete in the Strongman Classic, which is widely recognized as the hardest and heaviest strongman competition worldwide.
Zydrunas Savickas, a powerlifter from Lithuania, has been among the best competitors in the strongman competition. From 2003 until 2008, he was victorious in every competition. Savickas set three records over his whole participation period in the Tire Deadlift, Circus Dumbbell, and Manhood Stones.
