NBA In-Season Tournament Showdown: There is one more NBA In-Season Tournament game tonight. It is between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Indiana Pacers. Both teams are doing everything they can to win the trophy and the prize money after a very tough first round.
People who make a lot of money don’t need it for much more than pocket money, but people who are just starting out in their jobs or don’t make a lot of money can give it to their families as a nice Christmas present.
Each person can win a small amount of $850,000 if they make it all the way through the 2023 version. That entire amount will be given to the winner in the final on December 9 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
There is one clause, though. Some players are fine with that because it’s not about the money, even though two-way players only get half as much as full-time players. If all of the players on the winning team are fully signed, they will make a total of $7,500,000.
How many prizes are there in the NBA In-Season Tournament?
Plus, there are prizes to be won at every stage of the knockout rounds, where the winner of one game takes it all. You’re out if you lose. All non-final games count toward the normal NBA season, which keeps players driven to play their best.
They are put together like this:
Player gets $5,000 for making it to this stage, or $25,000 if they can play both ways. If every team has all of its full-time players, the prize money for this round will be $6 million USD.
Semifinals: If a player makes it to the final four, they get $100,000, or $5,000, based on the terms of their deal. If every team has all of its full-time players, the prize money for this round will be $6 million USD.
For players who make it to the final game of the event, the prize pool is $500,000. For players who play both ways, the prize pool is $250,000. If every team has all of its full-time players, the prize money for this round will be $7.5 million USD.
NBA In-Season Tournament 2023 Championship Venue Revealed
A strange choice for the final’s location
The final was chosen to be held in Las Vegas, which is in the Mojave Desert in Nevada. Nevada does not currently have an NBA team, so is this an effort by the league to grow the sport there?
After the Oakland Raiders (NFL) and now the Oakland Athletics (MLB) moved there in 2019, Sin City is becoming a sports hub. Is the NBA going to look into the idea of moving or adding an expansion team to the city?
The Los Angeles Lakers, who play in California, are the closest team to Las Vegas.
