Spain Women’s FIFA World Cup 2023 Squad: Alexia Putellas, one of the world’s best footballers, will be accompanied by a number of other talented players at the 2023 Women’s World Cup. Spain will be one of the most formidable teams at the tournament.
Following their protest against the federation, a number of Spanish players have reconciled their differences in order to compete for the national team at the World Cup. However, some remain unavailable.
Spain is a talented team with a diverse skill set. They were eliminated by England in the quarterfinals of the 2022 Women’s European Championships, but have since lost only one of their eleven games. In 2023 World Cup qualifying, they went undefeated and finished first in their division, eight points ahead of second-place Scotland.
Spain Women’s Fifa World Cup 2023 Squad:
GOALKEEPERS
Maria Isabel “Misa” Rodriguez Rivero, a fan darling at Real Madrid, is expected to be Spain’s first-choice custodian at the World Cup. During the 2022-23 season, she started 28 out of 30 league games for Madrid and excelled in goal.
Cata Coll and Enith Salon will serve as backups if Maria is unable to play, but Real Sociedad’s Elene Lete, who was included in the preliminary squad, has been omitted.
Sandra Panos, one of the fifteen players who protested against the federation, will not compete for Spain. Three players have been selected from the group of 15, but the veteran custodian is not among them.
DEFENDERS
Due to Mapi Leon’s withdrawal from the World Cup squad, Irene Paredes and Ivana Andres will represent Spain at center-back. Paredes has a great deal of experience in her position, and Andres is a likely replacement for Leon in the squad.
Ona Batlle, one of the 15 returning players, and Olga Carmona are both capable fullbacks and are anticipated to start. It will be intriguing to see who stakes a claim in the back-four among the talented substitutes.
Spain Women’s World Cup 2023 Squad: MIDFIELDERS
Alexia Putellas is the star of the Spain squad, with over 100 international appearances and incredible talent. Putellas was suspended for ten months due to an injury and hopes to make a triumphant return to international competition. Since returning to Barcelona in April, she has appeared in seven matches and tallied once.
Aitana Bonmati, Teresa Abelleira, or Claudia Zornoza will attempt to join Putellas in the midfield, and the trio should be able to create opportunities for their forwards on the largest stage.
Irene Guerrero and Maria Perez round out the roster of midfielders.

Jennifer Hermoso is a member of the squad and will play a significant role in the starting lineup during World Cup matches. She has made 97 appearances for Spain, second only to Alexia Putellas, and is the team’s all-time leading scorer, two goals shy of the 50-goal mark.
Alba Redondo and Esther Gonzalez, as well as Hermoso, will vie for a place in Spain’s final third alongside Hermoso, who comes from a pool of talented players. Redondo leads the division in scoring with 27 goals, while Gonzalez excelled in the qualifiers with 10 goals in six games.
Spain Women’s World Cup 2023 Squad: PREDICTED 11
