There were rumors that Nothing would introduce the Phone 2a at MWC in Barcelona on February 27. Nothing currently says the Nothing Phone 2a will launch on March 5, 2024. Design and display
The Nothing Phone 2a may have a 120Hz AMOLED display with 1,080 x 2,412 pixels. Display quality should be comparable to the flagship Nothing Phone 2, offering vivid and smooth visuals. We know little about the Phone 2a’s design. Expectations are that Future Nothing phones will retain the glyph interface and clear back panel.
An interesting leak from @Sunnington on Weibo suggests the Nothing Phone 2a may have a central rear camera layout, a departure from the two cameras in the top corner of the Nothing Phone 2. More speculations say the phone will have a 50MP primary and ultrawide camera. The primary sensor is said to be the Samsung S5KGN9 with a 1/1.5-inch sensor, while the ultrawide sensor is the S5KJN1 with 1/2.76 inches. The phone may sport a 32MP selfie camera. None of these data are validated, however, promotional movies from Nothing on YouTube say the phone’s camera was created in response to public demand.

While the Nothing Phone 2 has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset, the 2a will have the MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Pro. Despite its processing reduction, the Dimensity 7200 is a respectable processor for a budget phone. A recent promotional film showed that the MediaTek SoC outperformed the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7S Gen 2, thus performance should be good.
