Racist Content In Fortnite: The creator of Fortnite, Epic Games, has drawn criticism for allowing racist content to be played in the game’s Creative edition. Players have raised attention to some maps—such as Palestine Zone Wars—that are blatantly racist, while others contain material and goals that are highly questionable. Some have playable thumbnails that have racial cliches in them that moderators should be able to quickly identify and delete.
Prominent Fortnite content creator HypeX was one of the first to call out the issue on X saying, “This chapter launch was good and all, and ik (I know) yall just came back from vacation, but please get to banning maps like this ASAP @FortniteGame, really disappointing if you let them stay up for longer. Also, there is no justification for the initial map to remain up.

We will not be embedding the tweet here since it includes screenshots of some of the racist thumbnails in question that should not be shared any further online. You can see that one map, MonkeyBoxPVP, is obviously racist based on the picture used.
There are a lot of younger players in the game Fortnite, and it’s concerning that youngsters may be exposed to this stuff so readily. A strong modding system must be in place to handle the inevitable element that will exploit creative tools made available to the general public for their own purposes or enjoyment.
Even though it’s excellent that HYPEX has brought attention to the issue, it shouldn’t really need them to, given their three million followers on X.
