Early Life
Nick Chubb was born in Cedartown, Georgia, on December 27, 1995. He is a professional football player for the Cleveland Browns in the NFL. Chubb first played football in high school. In his junior year, he ran for 2,721 yards and 38 scores. He had 2,690 yards and 41 scores by the end of his senior year. He did so well on the field that colleges rated him as a four-star prospect. Beginning in 2013, he played college football for the University of Georgia as a starter.
Career
Against Louisville in the 2014 Belk Bowl, Chubb ran for 266 yards, which broke the bowl game record. He was named the Belk Bowl Most Valuable Player. The young MVP had run for 1,547 yards by the end of his first season.
The 2015 football season got off to a good start for Chubb, but the skilled player hurt his knee and had to miss the rest of the season. He came back in 2016 and played in the Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game. Against the North Carolina football team, he ran for 222 yards and two scores. So he didn’t join the NFL Draft in 2017, he played his senior year with the college team instead. He ran for 223 times for 1,345 yards and 15 touchdowns.
The last thing he did was join the 2018 NFL Draft as a running back with the Cleveland Browns. In his first deal, he got a signing bonus of $3.5 million and a deal worth over $7 million over four years. What a great beginning! Chubb became only the fourth player in NFL history to run for 100 yards on three tries or less. By October 2018, he was the full-time starter. Chubbs ran for 996 yards and eight touchdowns on 192 carries in his rookie year. He also caught 20 passes for 149 yards and two scores.
The 2019 season ended with a mix of wins and losses for Chubb, who rushed for 1,494 yards and eight scores and caught 36 passes for 278 yards. He was named “AFC Offensive Player of the Week.” Chubb’s 2020 season got off to a good start with two wins by week three. But in week four, he hurt his MCL, which kept him out until the 10th week of the season. Chubb played against the Houston Texans when he got back, and he had 19 runs for 126 yards and a touchdown. The professional football player extended his deal with the Cleveland Browns for three years and $36.6 million in 2021. He was also one of five Browns players chosen for the NFL Pro Bowl.
