Fee Structure of Top Central Universities: Students of Allahabad University have been protesting against fee hike for more than a month. For the last several decades, the fees for each student for a year was Rs 975, which comes to Rs 81 per month, whereas now the university has increased the fee to Rs 4,151 per year i.e. Rs 333 per month.
Children from families with low incomes are heavily dependent on government universities, as private universities are often out of budget. Let us know about the annual fees of top central universities of the country.
Jamia Millia Islamia
The fees for most of the undergraduate courses offered by Jamia including BA, BA History Honours, BA English Honors range from Rs 20000 to Rs 22000 while BA Geography Honors is Rs 23,400. BTech and BA LLB courses are relatively high from Rs 50000 to Rs 2 lakh.
Delhi University:
There are many colleges affiliated to the university. Whereas the annual fee for most undergraduate courses including BA, BCom and BSc courses is between Rs 5500 to Rs 14000. Fees are high in some courses.
Among most of the colleges, the fee for B.Sc Computer Science is the highest – Ram Lal Anand College Rs 65140, Aryabhatta College Rs 29130, Atma Ram Sanatan Dharma College Rs 50500, Deen Dayal Upadhyaya College Rs 36145, Hansraj College offering the course at Rs 48735.
Whereas most of the courses in Indraprastha Women’s College are Rs.24100 and in Lady Shri Ram College for Women, the courses are between Rs.15870 to Rs.25870.
Aligarh Muslim University
The fee structure is different for boys and girls in AMU. According to the official website, the fees for boys (external candidates) in BA (Hons) courses including English, Hindi, Geography, Philosophy is Rs 11275 and for girls (external candidates), it is Rs 10375. For internal candidates, the fee is Rs 10925 for boys and Rs 10025 for girls. For MA and MSc courses it ranges from Rs 10000 to Rs 14000.
Jawaharlal Nehru University
As per the official website, the tuition fee for BA (Hons), MA, MSc and MCA is Rs 216, for MPhil, PhD, Pre-PhD, PhD, MPH/PhD, MTech is Rs 240 while for part time course it is Rs 120 is Rs. The application fee for MBA is Rs 2500 and student activity fee per semester is Rs 2500.
University of Hyderabad
For BA and MA courses, the fee ranges between Rs 33000 to Rs 47000, for BSc and MSc courses, the fees can go up to Rs 81000 depending on the subject chosen by the student.
Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University
The annual fee for BA Honors Public Administration course is Rs 13300, for BCom Honors Rs 33300, for MA course from Rs 6300 to Rs 23300, while the fee for MSc course ranges from Rs 33000 to Rs 55000.
Visva Bharati University
The annual fee for Humanities stream UG courses is Rs 6030, for Science stream (Science and Agriculture) is Rs 6730, and for Social science stream is Rs 8530. For B.Ed, 9610 is Rs. The fee for PG courses ranges from Rs 7560 to Rs 11060.
Banaras Hindu University
According to the official website, the course fee per year for BA, BCom, BMS and BFA is Rs 1846, for BSc it is Rs 2266, for MA, MCom, MMS, MFA and MA (Mass Communication) is Rs 2596 . The annual fee for certificate course is Rs 1796, for UG diploma Rs 1796 and for PG diploma Rs 2236.
