Guwahati Medical College Postpones Exams update: Guwahati Medical College and the National Board of Examinations (NBE) has postponed the DNB examination due to the on-going protests against the Citizenship Amendment Bill 2019 in Guwahati and surrounding areas.

The DNB Final Exam 2019, earlier scheduled to be held on 13th, 14th and 15th December 2019 in the state has been postponed for Guwahati centre now, keeping in mind the safety of the candidates or students. However, the GMC and NBE will announced a revised schedule for the DNB Final Exam 2019 soon.

The NBE released a formal notice in connection with the cancellation of the exam. “Revised schedule for Guwahati centre shall be intimated in due course… Examination at all other centres across the country will be conducted as per schedule,” read the notice.

While protests erupued across the state of Assam with Guwahati being its epicentre yesterday following the passage of the Citizenship Amendment Bill in the Rajya Sabha, two people were killed and many others injured in police firing in Guwahati amid a raging agitation on Thursday.
In a bid to control the situation, police had imposed Curfew and Section 144 in the city. Despite the preventive restrictions, thousands of protesters poured out on the streets yesterday protesting against the Citizenship Amendment Bill 2019.
