In the wake of coronavirus outbreak in the country, the Ministry of Human Resource Development (HRD) on Friday wrote to educational organizations to apprise them about use of COVID-19 tracking application, AarogyaSetu.
The application is designed to inform the users about risks, best practices and relevant advisories pertaining to the containment of Covid-19.
HRD Ministry Secretary, Amit Khare, informed the University Grants Commission, All India Council for Technical Education, National Council for Teacher Education, National Institute of Open Schooling, National Council of Educational Research and Training and Kendriya Vidyalaya that the app will be helpful to students, faculty, teachers and their family members.
It will enable people to assess themselves the risk of catching the coronavirus infection.
The letter stated that the app will calculate this based on their interaction with others, using cutting edge Bluetooth technology, algorithms and Artificial Intelligence.
Further, it has also been informed that the Ministry of Ayush has developed a protocol for immunity boosting measures for self-care; it will be beneficial for students and others.
In the letter, it has also been suggested that as requested by Prime Minister in his address on 3rd April 2020, students should light a candle, ‘diya’ or torch on their mobile for nine minutes at 9 p.m. on April 5 to “realise the power of light and to highlight the objective for which we all are fighting together”.
However no one should assemble in colonies or on road or anywhere outside their houses, it stated.
