Manipur Foundation Day 2023: Numerous events are associated with the date 21 January in Indian history. It has been 49 years since Manipur, Meghalaya, and Tripura became independent states in the northeast. Under the North-Eastern Areas (Reorganization) Act of 1971, Manipur, Meghalaya, and Tripura were granted statehood on 21 January 1972. Manipur is bordered by Nagaland to the north, Mizoram to the south, Assam to the west, and Myanmar to the east along its international border.
