For their editorial section, “The Washington Post” created a cartoon depicting this event. This became even more well-known when Morris Michtom, a proprietor of a shop, imitated the animation by constructing a stuffed bear that he later dubbed “Teddy Bear.” Margarete Steiff commenced production of Teddy Bears later that year.
