Bank Holidays in May 2022: During the month of May, banks will be closed for 12 days. Every year, the Reserve Bank of India releases a list of bank holidays. So, if you’re going to the bank in May for payment transactions or other banking-related activity, then you must go through the holiday list first.
Banks will be closed for three consecutive days at the start of the month in May. The month of May is full of festivals. The first week of May will witness Bhagwan Shree Parshuram Jayanti, Ramjan-Eid (Eid-ul-Fitr), Basava Jayanti, and Akshaya Tritiya. The second week will witness a holiday on the occasion of Guru Rabindranath Jayanti. In the third and the fourth week, a few states will have a bank holiday on the occasion of Buddha Purnima and Kazi Nazrul Islam’s birthday.
Bank customers are advised that not all banks will be closed for all 12 days in all states or regions of the country, as holidays and festivals vary from state to state.
