Christopher Street Day is observed on June 28 each year. Often referred to as C.S.D., the day is a celebration of the L.G.B.T. community that takes place in a variety of cities across the globe; they come together to celebrate themselves and promote awareness of the L.G.B.T. community in society. In some locations, it occurs on the last Saturday of the month. It has been celebrated annually since 1970 and is the precursor to Gay Pride Day. LGBT organisations typically provide floats and pedestrian groups for the Christopher Street Day Parade, which also includes floats. The background of Christopher Street Day

Christopher Street Day began in New York in 1969 as a response by homosexuals to aggressive and cruel police assaults. In 1978, Christopher Street Day is first observed in Switzerland. In 1979, Berlin, Germany began celebrating the day annually.

Attend the march

The Christopher Street Day parade that is occurring today is not a straightforward, repetitive political rally. Rather, it is a colourful array of groups, associations, and organisations that have emerged from the hard-won freedom of homosexuals, lesbians, bisexuals, and transgender individuals.
