The June 17 payment is for people whose birthday falls between the 11th and 20th of any month. This includes retirement beneficiaries, survivors beneficiaries, and people who get Social Security Disability Insurance, also called SSDI. For the standard payment pattern used after May 1997, the third Wednesday is the payment day for this birthday group. In June 2026, that falls on June 17.

Not everyone in that birthday range gets paid on June 17, though. People who started Social Security before May 1997 are usually paid on the 3rd of the month. People who get both Social Security and SSI also usually follow that older schedule for Social Security, with Social Security paid on the 3rd and SSI paid on the 1st.
