GSEB 12th Supplementary Exam 2023: The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) notified on Monday that the registration deadline for the Class 12 science stream supplementary examination has been extended to June 9. The previous deadline expired Monday.

This year, the accomplishment rate of students in the 12th-grade science stream was 65.58 per cent, 6.64% lower than in 2022. 72.02% of students passed their examination in 2022. This was the worst performance in the previous 18 years.
Students who failed one or two subjects are eligible to take the supplementary examination.
The results for the Class 12 science division indicated that the greatest number of students failed physics, followed by chemistry, biology, and mathematics.
A close examination of the results reveals that 37,058 students failed the physics exam, 36,116 failed the chemistry exam, 18,347 failed the biology exam, and 8,670 failed the mathematics exam.

Students who did not pass the standard HSC exam may take the supplementary exam. Here are some restrictions on taking a supplemental exam.
- If a student has failed one or two subjects on his/her regular HSC Examination, then only that student is eligible to take a supplementary Exam.
- However, if a student failed more than two subjects on his/her regular HSC Exam, he/she is ineligible for a Supplemental Exam.
- In addition, if a student was absent from his or her regular HSC Exam, he or she may also register for a Supplemental exam.

How Do I Register for the Gujarat Board Supplemental Exam 2023?
Students who wish to register for a Supplemental Exam must complete an application form. Once the results of the regular SSC or HSC exams are published, the forms for supplementary exams will be posted on the official website of the Gujarat State Education Board.
The procedure for submitting an application for a Supplemental Exam is outlined below.
- Students must visit www.gseb.org, the official website of the Gujarat State Education Board.
- Navigate to the “Recent Announcements” tab on the GSEB website’s portal.
- Students must then navigate to the HSC Supplemental examination link on the GSEB website.
- A new tab titled “Application portal” will open. Students are required to fill out an application form.
- Students must now insert the requested information into the examination form.
- Following the completion of the application form and a single confirmation click, the SSC or HSC Examination application fee must be paid.
- If a Student wishes to print an application form for future use, he or she will be able to do so.
