Assam HS Arts, Commerce & Science Results: The Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) released the results of the Assam class 12 state board examinations with a 7 to 13 per cent decline in the pass rate compared to the previous year on Tuesday at 9 a.m. Guwahati.

The Arts pass rate decreased from 83.48 per cent to 70.12 per cent, while the Science pass rate decreased from 92.19 per cent to 84.96 per cent. The decline in business has ranged from 87.27 per cent to 79.57 per cent.
In the Vocational stream, the pass rate decreased from 89.30 per cent to 85.61 per cent.
Nikhilesh Dutta, a non-institutional private candidate, topped the Science exam with an aggregate score of 484 out of 500.
Sankalpajit Saikia from Ramanujan Senior Secondary School in Nagaon is the best student in the arts. He obtained 490 out of 500 points.
Commerce is led by Varsha Bothra of KC Das Commerce College in Guwahati and Sukanya Kumar of Malaybari Senior Secondary School in Kamrup (Metro). Each received a score of 472 out of 500.
Excluding the inflated pass rate of over 99 per cent due to the formula-based evaluation in 2021 after the examinations were cancelled due to Covid-19, AHSE recorded the best Class 12 board results in science and the arts in the last decade last year.
In this year’s February-March examination, the largest number of Arts candidates was 2.61 lakh, followed by 46,384 Science students and 20,414 Commerce students.
Girls have performed better than boys in all three main streams — Science, Arts, and Commerce — among regular candidates. In Science, the pass rate for female candidates was 86.49 per cent, while the pass rate for male candidates was 83.80 per cent.
InThe pass rate for male candidates is 66.94 and the pass rate for female candidates is 72.2% for Arts.
In Commerce, 81.27per cent of female candidates passed against 78.88 per cent of male candidates.
