Constitution Day of India: History

B.R. Ambedkar takes the helm. The Commission finished working on November 26, 1949. On January 24, 1950, the procedure was completed when participants signed two handwritten versions of the agreement, one in Hindi and one in English. The first session of the Parliament began on December 9, 1946, in New Delhi, and continued until January 24, 1950.

A total of 11 meetings were held over the course of around 166 days during that time. The Indian Constitution went into effect and became a national statute on January 26, 1950.
