Little received her secondary school education at Robert E. Lindblom Math & Science Academy (LMSA), where she ran track and field for the team and won several medals. She set 2A meet standards in the 100-meter hurdles (13.87) and 200-meter dash (24.05) as a senior at the Illinois State 2A Championships.

Shamier Little Early life
Shamier Little, an American hurdler, was born in Louisville, Kentucky on March 20, 1995. The birthplace of Little is Louisville, Kentucky. Her mother was an accomplished basketball player and high jumper at Eastern Kentucky University, while her father played cornerback for the football team.
At the age of eight, Shamier began to compete in junior track and field. At the 2004 USATF Youth Championships, she competed for the University of Chicago Youth Track Club in the 100-meter sprint for her national debut.
She participated in numerous open track competitions. Little later competed in USATF and AAU competitions while running for the Country Club Hills Gazelles. None of her early juvenile competitions could be deemed extraordinary.
Little took his training more seriously at Chicago’s Robert Lindblom Math & Science Academy, where he eclipsed the IHSA Class 2A records for the 100-meter hurdles, 200-meter hurdles and 400-meter dash. She triumphed in the 400-meter hurdles competition at the 2011 AAU Junior Olympics.
She won the 400-meter event at the Arcadia Invitational in 2012 and again in 2013. She qualified for the 2012 World Junior Athletics Championships by winning the 400-meter junior national hurdles competition.
However, she did not finish the race after collapsing at the final obstacle while in medal contention. At the 2013 National Championships, Minor competed in the 100-meter hurdles and 400-meter dash, finishing last in both events.
Career
After secondary school, Little decided to enrol at Texas A&M University. As a freshman, she won the 400-meter hurdles at the NCAA Championships and helped her team to a second-place finish in the 4 x 400-meter relay.
She won the 400-meter hurdles event at the 2014 World Junior Championships later that summer. She repeated as NCAA champion in 2015 and ran the fastest time in the world during the season prior to defeating the best women in the national final.
After winning the national championship in 2015, Minor was invited to compete in the 2015 Pan American Games, where she claimed the gold medal. Little claimed the NCAA 400-meter hurdles title for the third time in 2016.
