Second Facebook Settlement Payment: Some Facebook users may soon get a second payment from Meta’s $725 million privacy settlement. This is not a new lawsuit. It is extra money left over after the first round of checks. News reports say the second round should start on June 9, 2026 and keep going for about four weeks. Meta has denied wrongdoing, but it agreed to the settlement to end the case. The first payments were sent in September 2025.
Who can get the Second Check?
Only a smaller group can get this money. The person must have filed a valid claim in the original settlement and must have already received the first payment. This is not a new claim form. People who missed the old deadline cannot sign up now.

The settlement covered Facebook users in the U.S. who had an account at some point between May 24, 2007, and December 22, 2022, but this second round is narrower than that. One report on the settlement site says, “The second distribution was approved by the Court to redistribute uncashed funds from the initial distribution to settlement class members who successfully cashed their initial payment,”.
How much Money people may get?
The second payment is expected to be much smaller than the first one. CBS News said the settlement website does not list the exact amount yet, so the final payment can change from person to person.
Some reports say the average second check may be around $4.72, but the site itself has not confirmed a fixed number. The first round was bigger, with CBS News reporting an average payment of $29.43.

Email Warning for Users
People who qualify may get an email before the money arrives. CBS News reported that claimants should expect an extra notice about 3-4 days before the payment is sent.
The CBS report also quoted the settlement administrator saying, “You will receive an additional email notice approximately 3-4 days before your additional settlement payment is issued. Please continue to check your email during this time period,”. Anyone who gets a message should make sure it is from the official settlement administrator before clicking links or sharing personal details.
