Who Can Apply for StudentAid BC?

You need to meet the main eligibility rules before you can get student aid. You must usually be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or protected person. You also need a valid SIN and must be a resident of British Columbia under StudentAid BC rules. Your school and program must also be approved for student aid.

You also need to show financial need and make satisfactory progress in your studies. Your income information and other details can be checked during the application. StudentAid BC says only one province can provide your student funding at a time.

The money you get is based on your financial need. StudentAid BC uses your education costs and subtracts the resources you’re expected to have available. These costs can include tuition, books, supplies, living costs and child care.
