The new federal fiscal year also brings changes to maximum SNAP allotments in the 48 contiguous states and Washington, D.C.
The maximum monthly benefit rises to $306 for one person, $562 for two people, $808 for three people and $1,023 for a four-person household. The minimum benefit for eligible one- and two-person households rises to $25.

The four-person maximum is up from $994 in FY 2026, while the one-person maximum increases from $298 to $306. These are maximum amounts, so they don’t mean every household will receive the same payment. Actual benefits depend on household income, deductions and other eligibility factors.
Alaska, Hawaii, Guam and the U.S. Virgin Islands have separate maximum allotments. Hawaii is the exception among these areas because its maximum allotments decrease under its separate cost-of-living calculation.
